Accepting payments for a web design company

My two friends have started a small freelance web design company (they're very good, if they were terrible i'd tell them).

Anyway, they've asked me to be their admin guy, customer service etc.

Basically, i'm not sure of the "easiest" way to accept payment from clients once a service is complete. Fairly substantial amounts of money should be involved, and I want something very reputable so that both us and the clients have no qualms about using it.

I don't want it set out like a shopping cart, I would want it integrated into the design of the site like Amazon etc, but like I said, not a shopping cart where a client has to "add" an item, that's just silly.

Would Paypal be a good choice for this? I haven't really looked into their merchant stuff, I've only used their request payment email service.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

    Tom
