which is best way for accepting foreign credit card in india for payments from worldwide. we use paypal for now, but since paypal has it's own restrictions with many countries, we need a better option with less transfer fee.
I try to picture myself as a customer. I feel confident with any site that takes PayPal because I know their buyer protection works. Even if you decide to add another gateway, I would stronger consider keeping PayPal as an option.
you again missed the point in fulll light ! STRIPE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR MANY COUNTRIES INCLUDING INDIA !
The best of option for a credit card payment processing for international merchants would be 2checkout. It now offers ACH withdrawals for India I think. This is by far the only available solution I know. It can also accept Paypal payments.
What about Google Checkout? I'm not sure how they do with countries like India, but they're probably one of the top-notch CC processors aside from PayPal.
I think Google checkout was already retired. The alternative they replaced it with is Google wallet. EDIT: Incidentally, Google wallet is actually for transactions used for Google products and services. No other uses. It also allows you to only send money/funds for people in the U.S. only.
Didn't know Stripe is not supported in India but there are other sites like Stripe. Here are 7 sites like stripe: http://www.topsimilarsites.com/similar-to/stripe.com (please note, I searched in Google and found this; I don't have any experience with their payment gateway so please dig deep first) I think there are local vendors who can provide you payment gateway feature. Did you try them?
For Indian Companies, you would need a offshore account. But keep in mind any offshore processing company will have a harder time to get authorization from US or Canadian banks to clear the transactions. Try secureglobalprocessing.com, they are worldwide and provide visa and mastercard. Good luck
My vote goes for 2checkout. I'm not from India, not from the US or UK either. I managed to use 2checkout quite successfully. There is even the option to transfer money to you payoneer card by using payoneer's virtual US bank account. A big advantage of 2CO is that they allow both paypal payments and credit card payments so you don't have to use 2 gateways on your site. What's not so great is the fact that you only get monthly payouts and there is a 5% (I think) security hold and they also have a very strict fraud detection in place and legit orders sometimes are considered as fraud and not accepted.
With regards to 2checkout payouts, I think it is done every Thursday of the week. You get your payout if your balance is equal or above the minimum ($300 I think). The security is I think necessary for possible request for charge back or refund. The hold amount will still be included in the payout after a certain number of payout cycles. For legit orders being considered as fraud, I believe it is a case of misunderstanding. If you believe that a certain order is a bit questionable, you must contact 2checkout reseller support in advance and advise them of the said order. Discuss to them that you personally know the person making the order and that you have verified his/her identity. That way the fraud review team will be notified of such transaction and will consider your circumstance. Not all of these credit card processing solutions are perfect. There are flaws. The important thing is you know how to coordinate with them to avoid confusion whether an order is valid or not. I wish you well.
