Accepted by YPN - Time to Shell Out the $299?

I have long wondered if paying the $299 fee to get into the Yahoo Directory would be worth it.

Now that I am a YPN publisher, should I pay?
Would my Yahoo SERPs improve enough to offset the cash outlay?
Yahoo seems to ignore some of my internal pages, many with YPN ads.
Would a membership in the Yahoo directory result in ALL my pages doing better in the Yahoo SERPs?

Is the moon made out of green cheese?

One of my sites got lucky and Yahoo Directory listed it free after getting reviewed on USA Today hotsites (thanks to a tip posted on these forums)

A few months later that site was ranking #2 in Yahoo search.
So the directory does help but paying $299 per year, I dunno :(
if YPN generates more than $1 per day it pays for itself I guess

Its worth it if your business is good, but if its a free site then it will be hard to pay $300/year, try creating a RSS Feed with all your links and adding it to your Yahoo that helps sometimes.

Waste of money. You will get no traffic from it or maybe a few hits. It sucks.

Yahoo states that it "may" help your rankings, but from most of the people I know, it doesn't or the increase is very small. I have a top level yahoo listing and it sends about 200 visitors a month, but other people I know see a lot less (and others I'm sure see more). It really depends on your site focus (how popular is the theme) and how many listings are in the category. Tech related items don't seem to do as well as consumer shopping goods that appeal to the average joe.

It wouldn't be the first place I would spend $299, but it is something that can be worth it depending on your site. It also depends on how much you make per visitor to your site.

I haven't seen ANY increase in yahoo traffic on my sites running YPN. The pay rate is going to be the same regardless of where the traffic comes from.

    Ah. Ooh. and Oh. Hmmm.
Well, that does it for me. Not for now.
    Thanks for the feedback comments.

I did make that dollar, today.
My first YPN Monday and Tuesday (starting tomorrow) should be revealing and instructive.

I have switched my lowest 30% performing Google pages to YPN. I'll hold it here until I see some more data. Although my Google CTR went way up, Adsense money has, so far, gone down relatively (G penalty?). It's supposed to go up.

    Gottawaitaweek!
Then I might have some idea. Show me the money!
