Acceptable CTR vs. impressions. (and other tips)

Hey guys, I got my first google payment yesterday, which inspired me to work harder, learn more, and do better.

My question is how to gauge my blocks per adsense channel. We know that page impressions are important. That is our targeted traffic. Now lets gauge the CTR.

What is acceptable and comfortable CTR for you? How do we gauge the most optimal block for the job.

    Some key things to incorporate.

    1. blend, blend, blend
    2. make google adsense links blue. People see blue and incorporate that as live.
    3. put adsense at the fold.
    4. use text blocks (images don't do as well)

After doing these small and simple tricks, we still have to find the best CTR for said block. so what is your input on this. Feel free to rebut!

    Thnx-
    and godspeed!

I prefer 336 rectangle ad block and that too blended well within the content.. CTR of 1 % is also very good if you have a decent targeted traffic

I'm confused. Are you saying that every 1 impression = 1 click is very good? (that's ideal!) :D But not too likely.

Or are you saying that every 100 page impressions = 1 click is very good? That's is more realistic stat I think.

Sorry for my ignorance on the subject. I am still learning.

Perfect! I'm at about 1.35% this month. So ad placement and size must not be an issue. However, I'm only making $0.12 cents per click.

Filter your low paying ads with the competitive ad filter.

    Hi,

Can you supply me with more information on how to properly filter. Or direct me someplace to learn. That's a technique that I don't know yet. Like how do you know what are high paying or low paying?
