Hi, I´m working on the SEO for a site in Spanish, a language which uses of a lot of accents. However, when people enter search terms in the browser they don´t often include the accents in their search terms. For example, one of my focus keywords is "analisis redes sociales", but in the meta description I want to put the grammatically-correct "ánalisis redes sociales". Does the accent make Google read the the term as a completely separate keyword phrase, or will Google not even pay attention to the accent? I have the same doubts about words that use "ñ".
Google search it seems does not require them > http://www.google.ch/intl/de/help/basics.html EG Google will identify the words without the diacritics but surely this would depend much on the keyboards people use in Spanish, which I am unfamaliar with, as I am with Spanish, so please tell us do people in spain have keyboards that have keys which use these diacritics or are the keyboards just the usual qwerty style keyboards? People are lazy so we will then need to look at percentages to break down the pros and cons me thinks. If normal keyboards it will take some maths to work things out by comparing some data which it's self will be flawed as we are talking about checking things which from what I see (including webmaster tools at Google) don't always provide the best data. This is a very interesting question though I must say. Quite difficult to find the info on this out there though I must say.
