You can with extremetracking, but unless you pay a monthly fee the stupid button is available for anyone to go in.

I always go the other sites and look in it to steal a piece of where their traffic is comming from. (lol)

If you have access to the server logs download them and use Web Log Storming. That's what I use, and there isn't anything I can't find out about visitors to my site. I can see all the search engine referrals, click on them and see the exact same page to see where my site came in the results. I can also see what that visitor did on my site. I can track referrals from AdWords just by putting a dummy query (e.g. ?aw=1) in the link and setting a filter to show only that. I can select all the visitors that downloaded or bought a particular product on my site, and see where they all came from.

Another very good tool is ClickTracks, which shows you everything visually, but it is very expensive and you need a very large screen to use it easily. I find the text listing provided by WLS is good enough.

I'm not familiar with the tracking tools others have mentioned, but the problem in most cases is they are not reliable because a) they use JavaScript to do the tracking, which some people turn off, and b) some security products block their domains, because they are considered spyware. The best information comes from your server logs. If you can't access them, find a different host.

    Try statcounter.com

I use the free (limited to 500 entries only) version and very much satisfied with it. If I have the budget to go serious, I'll use them.

It is true that AWStats is usually updated once a day on shared hosts, but that's a matter of update schedule. For some sites, I update it every 15 minutes.

I have obtained good results with a tool called superstats. The problem is that you have to paid for it.

    4. Performacing Metrics.
    5. Stopplex.
