I am curious about how www.webmd.com earns money(other than advertisement). it is greatest medical website on net.

I have medical website too ( about 270,000 visits per month) but
have not earned money from 5 years ago I have created it.

 

Small digression: You have an increadable number of visits per months without profit. You don't need to be #1 in your niche to start earning money.

I have looked wedmd.com as my symbol .when I looking at it
I can` find any way for thier profit without some official advertisement.
although it is very heavy and very big and very popular.emedicinehealth.com
and medscape.com are belong to them also.

 

try affiliate programs, medical niche is million dollar niche, you can earn a lots with that

 

But it's not very easy for you to make money.All the money comes to the website belonged to a hospital or dentist or others.
Maybe you should put more helpful and welcome medicine on your website.Or hire some guys working for you.

 

hamids68, pm me your url. I might be able to give you some free pointers to what you are doing wrong. You are standing on a gold mine and you don't even know it. Start digging it and put it all in your pockets until it's too late.

I plan to earn money by this ways:

1- advertisements( i don`t know how to get good advertisement)

2- drugstore(something like www.drugstore.com but I don`t know how to start it and even it is correct to have drugstore like that in medical site or not)

3- attracting patients to our clinics

there are some affiliate programs but what they sell are fake stuffs and I don`t like my visitors buy them...bc ultimately it influences my site...

 

WebMD has advertisements from Google and drug companies on their website. Some of their tools and information guides are sponsored by companies. WebMD probably have a sales department that goes out and looks for sponsors and advertisers. Check out their advertising page.

I think it is better for me to open new topic about monetizing my website.

there are some problems for getting adsense from google also getting good
advertisement and also affilate programs...

I wonder why such a big website(webmd.com) does not have online store?

 

A lot of them use advertisements or they sell or refer the orders out to companies. It is a good process and they can make some money doing it.

 

adsense give you good earnings then any other affiliate programs.do you get usa traffic? yes adsense pay more for usa traffic
