    Hello to the old timer.

    I want to ask somethins about choosing the best domain name.

    I've found one keyword which is actively being search since 2004 until present with the rising of 250%.

    So I went to NameCheap and look for the domain name and;

    bestactivekeyword.com

    have been bought by someone else but leaving other tld such as .net, .org, .biz and etc remain available.

    I then search again and;

    best-active-keyword.com

    was available and so was other tld.

    My question, if I was only to choose the best domain name, which one should I choose?

    The other tld of non-dashed or get the .com with the dashes inside the words?

    Thank you in advance.

    Why not hedge your bet and buy name with dash and .net without dash. From a reseller value stand point the .net should have resell value where dashes will have minimum.

    I'd say choose another TLD, don't go for a dash.

    I would agree to buy both the dash.com as well as withoutdash.net and have the best of both the worlds! Build the site on .net and use the dash version to aid you to rank well in serps! :)
