Yeah, I have noticed a bit of a drop! I am from Australia, so it's nice for buying stuff - not so great for payouts!

With the value of the dollar dropping and most of the items on market being imported, prices will start rising more and more. Better finish you christmas shopping early this year.

The value of the dollar has been dropping for about 18 months. I can remember reading an article in the FT about a year ago that they planned to devalue by 30$ over a 3 year period. At the time it was about $1.10 to the Euro, now its $1.30 to the Euro, guess that they still plan to devalue a little more.

my speculation is the government creates a lot of money to pay off debts, by making paper but not making value so more papers = less value per paper

I’ve heard that some people are buying US $ so that when it goes up again they can sell and make a few bucks. I really don’t know if this will work, I guess it all depends on how low the US $ will go.

one possible reason could be lot of expenses with wars in Iraq, or some sort of speculation , don't know, i am not a economist to tell the exact cause
