About us Pages in Directories.

Well Vtech i usually just remove the main directory code out of the main.tpl file and copy header code from header.tpl and footer.tpl file and make a static blank page and accordingly than fill that blank file with content, better than creating a page using phpld method as it does not have any smarty restrictions no more . Can use php java or whatever script i like on that page .

 

Yes, go their forum and ask for support on how to do it.

 

I don't think you need to tell your whole life story, but the about us page is a good way to give visitors a more detailed description of what your site is about.

I pretty much keep it simple About Index-it.net

 

I try to get a few things in my "about us" page which relates to my rankings in SE's, alexa, about our guidelines and terms of conditions.
Also i specified about the promotions i made.

I agree but it does add a homely feeling to the site, i did not tell about my life story , like when i was born did i wear diapers or not, how long it too me to get potty trained, my first arm break, my first accident, near death experiences now did i ?

Its simple brief current events and stuff you are upto, does not make about us page look bad, i should have used about me page as the title instead of about us , but than again its about my site and me so techincally its correct to say that its about us page

I think it personalizes the site and helps folks understand what we are all about (we're a niche directory with an unusual focus).
