Hey guys! I'm about to sell my first eBook, which is about "How to make a bebo app/game". Its my first time making an eBook, so i need some tips, do's and don'ts. I know a lot of eBook's get bought but then passed on for free or "resold". I'd hate this to happen to me but i suppose it happens to a lot of people. I've read about a method where you pay an online website a fee of $30/£18 per month, and what happens is it stops your eBook from being shared. A second website, charging just $9.95/£6 allows you to track IP's of the people who you have sold the eBook to, and if they are sharing the eBook you can make the eBook "stop working" (They get a certain password with their email, so their eBook is almost unique) I'm not really sure if i should use one of these methods, or another security method, or whether i should just get along with the fact my eBook profit's will be "raped". Apart from that, i'm not sure where i should start to sell the eBook. I was thinking eBay, DP, here and then i was kinda stuck. If i tried selling it on random forums, one person may purchase it then upload it to the forum. This means i might not be able to sell on some forums. Aswell as that, if i signed up to a forum and had 1 post, it would be hard to gain trust. If there's anything else i should no, or any tips you could give me please let me know I've heard about using different "digital item" selling sites that take care of everything for you (I think Clickbank is one example) but at that i've heard of high selling fee's, and i don't really mind just selling each eBook individually to different people. Sounds like you've 'heard' a lot Here's some ideas: Do you have a list that you've been building that you could send a mailshot to? Is there another person doing well in that market that could joint venture with you? Could you package more with the book, such as video content, that would make it more of a valuable package? These are just my thoughts...

Well at the moment I haven't seen any other eBook like this at all. I don't have any contacts of people who would purchase it, maybe a few from another forum. I'm not sure about a joint venture, i just need to sell the eBook.
Maybe you should try starting by collecting contact details of targeted audience first Would get some decent conversions to start out with
I asked one of my internet marketing coaches about this issue once, and he's sold eBooks before. He said that as a whole, not as many people steal from you as you think. You are covered by DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act). If need be, you can always take DMCA steps with Google and the thief's hosting company. You can always just create a sales page with a PayPal Button. Then simply promote your website. That would be the least complex way of selling your product.
