Hi, Not sure if this is the board to post, if not mods move it ;D Anyway, I'm now in the stage of finalizing one of my software applications and releasing it to my partners but how do i advertise it so that people will notice my software, or do my partners do the advertising part? Although most of my software is released as open source so far, this one is not because im planning to make some money instead of releasing my software to the public domain. This because I've had some bad experience with people ripping my code without even thanking me that I coded the software for them in the first place. Although lots of people thanked and donated money to me I still think its wrong to use my code without even asking me to use it. Sure its open source, but leave the copyright note intact ya, thats my rant. But oh well. Regards,
I suggest ffering a free trial and either get it on a site like download.com or give it away for free and put your banners, or other pay sites on your software.
I would definitely not put banners or ads in any software...it will get classified as "adware" which is almost as bad as "spyware" lol. Make a time-limited or feature-limited evaluation version and send it to some major download sites.
Hi Dagon Please put an ebook in your software package showing how to use your software. I do not know how many time I got some software unzipped it an did not know how to use it.
