    Hello,

These are my stats for the last 5 days of November for my re-launched (after 1 year) site:

    Page impressions - 20,056
    Clicks 32
    CTR 0.16%
    Page eCPM US$0.52
    Total US$10.41

Ok, that`s from scratch, I know how to get raw traffic. My problem is the google optimising itself.

I have a video site (i know i know, but we record all ourselves so thats why people come to it) Thing is, the ads etc just are nothing to do with my site, I have tried:

Competitive filtering via CP of adsense
using the <-- google ads start here technique, also the weight ignore!
utilised overture and wordtracker keyword help
used google advised ad placing areas
amped up my meta tags and keywords per page configuration

And it just doesnt work, and the more I try and tweak, the worse the words get. Is there anything anyone can advise, or are the adbrites etc a better option?

google now has video ads in adsense....look at that and see if it helps..
and add some content to the site...maybe a paragraph or so about the video...that will help the spider determine what your site is about...meta tags will not help...

Adsense will only get you money if the advertiser is making any. They have set number of amount for adsense projects and if they don't get revenue, they slowly start to lower the rate and ultimately remove adsense altogether.

It has nothing to do with our success or failure..Its the industry as a whole that suffers.

Start from the beginning and look for some other projects to work upon. Adsense concept itself is very big and money churning method.

Keep taking the calculated risk..eventually success will come

The fact is my site was alexa ranking of 38,000 before it went down and a google PR of 6, and I didnt do any hard adsense on it at all, NO optimisation...nothing, so i know I lost out MAJOR! it was its shear content. now with 4000 videos putting a paragraph for each video will be, urrrr...let`s just say it will take a while. But I hear you.

As for other projects, I have them, but this one will be holding tournaments and beta game tests from next year so the content will really heat up.

I say "take a vacation." If you're not satisfied, I guarantee there is another advertising solution for you, but you have to find it. Try out all the AdSense alternatives and see how they compare. If all else fails, come crawling back. No one should be here convincing you to stay with AdSense--My motto is not all sites are the same, so not all advertising companies will work the same. You NEED to experiment.

    1. To start off, Google Adsense business should be treated as importantly as other businesses. Its totally unethical to call it as residual income. If you consider it as residual then you should not expect big cheques from it.

    2. Secondly, track you improvements, changes in ad positioning, whats working and whats not. From today, track all the changes you do and their impacts, its the basic common mistake that we make, not tracking the changes we make. This helps in analysing few things which works for us and which do not. Repeat the things next time you go about making a new site and stay away from the things which didnt work this time. It helps in avoiding mistakes we make again and again.

    3. The main thing this premium publisher do, is take up some broad niche and then divide them into sub niches, each having its individual sites. For eg, Sports, Cricket, Indian Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, Fan sites. They use specific automated site building tools to make up their instant niche sites. This automated tools are their main secret weapons of mass earnings.

    4. Once you have exhausted making the 'n' no. of niche sites from the same niche, provide backlinks, links from each niche site to other one, and from each page to related page in other sites.

    5. Now, designing your site requires one main point to be covered, make it very easy to browse as well as simple on the looks. Remember your main aim is to have click through on adsense rather then distracting your viewer to other things. Here the mantra is to 'Tell' not 'Sell' like any e-commerce site which will have emphasis on its product and will guide the viewer to their products. So make an informative site with enough content which will have adsense related matter.

    6. Now comes the main part, the exposure of your sites, its easy and should be a gradual but steady process, make links from other related to yours, provide interlinking to your various related sites, make sitemap of each site and submit it to google, submit your sites to various directories like Indexrated & Agile List Web Directory. This should provide you steady and good traffic. In 2-4 months, you would be having enough traffic to have good amount of click-throughs.

    7. After doing the tough part, you got to have patience on your part. Nobody and i mean nobody can earn 100$ on 1 day itself, wait for few months and you would be on your way to premium publisher. If you still want to earn more, repeat this steps with different niche and double your earnings

sweet lord of no cracks...I was with adsense for over a year before this, I know it takes time, and I have other projects, I mainly want to look at the placing, I know how to get the traffic, thats the easy part. Also, since I am a pro gamer with some high ranks on various games (aswell as most of the people who did the videos on the site) I will eventually look at the other side of the coin from the people who semi sponsor our tournaments, so it isnt all gloom and doom I guess.

There is no need to stay with one ad network. Sometimes, adsense may not perform well for a particular niche. So don't bother. Ofcousre you need to try first by making sure, your ads are optimized for content (I mean blended with your content). Now still if they don't perform, then utilize those placed with some other ads (Lots of other ads like widgetbucks, kontera or chitika).

Put adsense on some other sites :) Give your real estate to the highest payers! So diverisfy your ad networks.

I've noticed a decrease in revenue over the last 6 months, but I do get a decent number of clicks.

As long as I get the ads setup bearable according to the "pros" here, I will give it ANOTHER shot, but I just have learned to, well, not like adsense. I am looking through other affiliate terms, and it looks like my impressions will just about qualify me for some of them :)

I've noticed the change in ads coming from AdSense too. A few months ago they were targeted to my site (and well paying) and now 90% of them are MFA trash. I hope Google is temporarily adjusting their algorithms otherwise I suspect I'll be looking for alternatives too.

I don't think you should quit, you should perhaps get another program to complement your adsense. Adsense is free money really.
