About to launch my site, have a quick question

Hello, I have just built my first review style site. I am actually very happy with the way it turned out.

Before I upload it and start driving traffic I have a small concern that I would appreciate some help with.

For the website, I wrote 8 original articles that I think are pretty good. Is there anything I can do in order to prevent someone copying them? I keep hearing of people stealing articles from directories such as ezinearticles.com, is there anything stopping them from taking them off my site?

Should I worry about this at all?

    Thanks for your input.

However, if i were to find your website and think to myself "i want that article for myself" i would just manipulate the article untill it was worded completely different to that of the original.

In short, i wouldnt worry too much about it, so long as your's is the first recorded instance of that article, that it is crawled by all the major search engines ... you should be just fine if somebody decided to steal the content. - If you ever found out, you can get them to remove it because of plagiarism.

Nope, there really is nothing you can do! Just make sure to build back links so that google will know you are the original source!

    Good luck with your site!

    All right, thanks guys.

Danimal62, speaking of back links, I understand that it seems to be a bit controversial as to how many and how fast I should be building them. Should I buy some kind of service that creates back links? Or should I just slowly do it myself? Do you think one a day is enough? (for example blog comments, squidoo and such)

I advise you to put a link to your site at the end of each article that way if they steal them they link back to your website.

Demonic, I think that if someone would be taking my article they would most likely delete that link.

However, just the way it turned out, every article does have a link to somewhere else on my site anyway.

Just go ahead and make sure you have a link back at the end of your articles.

You can't stop people from copying your articles.

Demonic is truly correct.just put your links in every article so that you have very less chances to be stolen.

    Hi newpro,

Sorry but there's nothing that you can do about theft :/ No matter where you submit your articles... people may try to copy them.

Don't let it bother you though, you just worry about the originiality of your article :)

Running a wordpress blog I always use RSS Footer plugin. At least with this when the automate the process of stealing I'm guaranteed a link. Obviously someone just copy and pasting won't be affected by this, but it helps the real nasty scrapers.

If your content comes on internet, there is no chance you can stop it from being copied. :)
Don't focus on that part, always write unique content, google will deal with those crap copy pasters :p

Unless you have original unique articles, you have nothing to worry about.
