Give it time man. Your site was like mine, got mad cause I wasn't getting members or anything, but give it time, do something so where people tell there friends and get the word out for your forum. www.pbfreaks.com I just had like 100 members till I purchased a adwords account and purchased advertisement.
I think you have big problems with patience. If you cant wait 30 minutes for you question to be answered here I doubt you can wait for your forum to be successful
Yeah man, you just don't make a forum and wait a day for thousands of members to join and post up! Go out and promote your site. WORK!
You have amassed 1100 posts in two weeks and you are not happy? That is a good accomplishment, my friend. Forum building from scratch is a venture that takes time and requires patience and perseverance. Perhaps you set your short-term goals too high. Re-evaluate your targets. Really, your numbers are very good for a new forum.
Think of it this way. If everyone could create a massive forum in two weeks and start earning real income from it, nobody would be here to help you; we'd all be kicking back on a beach somewhere sunny for the rest of our lives. Takes hard work, time, and perseverance, like anything else in life. Best advice I can give you is to simply ask yourself if this is something you can dedicate a couple hours to every day for the next 2-3 years? Is the subject in question something you're passionate about? If the answer is yes, start marketing yourself - stick your URL in as many places as you can (btw, I've already put your url as an affiliate on my forum ). Keep up with the link exchange programs, spend a little on marketing if you can, and get the name out there. I'm thinking about starting a forum, I bought the vbulletin license yesterday with my catfood money (really) and I would be thrilled if I got 50 members in 2 weeks.
We have a forum around 2k members and over 30k public posts ( http://www.engineeringserver.com/forum/ ) . The forum exists a few years so i'm thinking you are doing pretty good for a starter. Take my advice and advertise your forum a bit, post something yourself everyday so it looks active and ppl will come.
dude, not cool, ad shooting out from the side when going to your site and it also crashed IE when I opened it. Firefox didn't crash, but before the ad popped out, I was going to say you have liked 2300 members but when I seen the ad, I just left.
if that's the attitude you are gonna have after only a mere 2 wks, then perhaps this is not for you or you entered it blindly without doing proper research. think many of us here are also trying to get forums started and many have been doing so for MONTHS or even YEARS. So it really amuses me when i see a thread like this.
it takes lots of time, money and promotion..see my forum link in sig..been live for 8 months now,but still needs work..i have adsense sharing arcdade store and all kinds of hacks
I would say that 50 members in the first 2 weeks is very good. It looks as if you have started this forum thinking that after a few days it will be as active as this forums or something. lol. It just doesn't happen. Most large sites spend thousands on advertising and then they also take time to grow.
50 members in 2 weeks was before 2 weeks I have now 125 members after 1 month + 2-3 days What do u think ? http://pro-football.eu if u don`t believe
