I'm running it with a Nexus Real Silent (pushing front to back), running at 10-15% (most of the time) So I doubt I'll ever need to go push-pull. The cheap 'little' 212 Plus is a ripper.
Haha I see. Well, that's good as its summer in the Southern Hemisphere now I suppose for you. Speaking of cpu coolers, I have got to clean my dusty Hyper 212 soon
my PC Rig : Proc : AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE PSU : Corsair TX 650W GPU : Zotac GTX 275 AMP RAM : Team Extreem Dark CL5 4GB HDD : 1,5 Tb nice part, cause i can overclock till 4 Ghz with this Rig..
Wow, nice rig and casing! I can get my E8600 (yea, old ) up to 3.6 ghz fine, but after that it becomes a little more troublesome unfortunately
i think desktop is bettery than laptop and the RAM should be 4GB, especially used to calculate. the coulor of your desktop looks good
+1 bettery, coulor. Thanks for the material, I'll be using it sometime in 2011. I'll make sure you get a credit. ... and welcome to DP. ------------
The only drawback with having more than 4 gig of ram is inorder for your Windows Operating system to fully utilize the 8 gig you have to be running the 64 bit version of the OS. It used to be a big issue in the past because many programs wouldn't run in 64 bit mode but times have changed. The core i7 processor runs slightly faster than the core i5. The bang for the buck is the core i5. The great thing with lga 1156 motherboards are they come in at a lower cost compared to the lga 1366. One last thing to consider anytime you buy newly released motherboards you risk having problems with the bios. I always buy later models just because all the bugs and bios revisions have been fixed. So with that, I think you have a solid affordable system there.
I also built my own system 2 years ago and it was the best choice I made (still running smoothly in comparison to the 3 prebuilt ones I had before which always had some minor and major issues). Also have 64 bit and 8 gig but fans are quite loud...was supposed to be a gaming machine and loud fans aren't very annoying when you play with headset or just turn up the volume But yeah, for programming/design work you would want to have a silent PC.
