About Social Media Marketing & SEO & Adsense

my site's experiencing serious shrinking in adsense payment (CPC). But in the market still cant find sth better than adsense. I think the whole internet ads market is down.

so focus shall still be on driving in traffic and driving up SE ranking

recently heard a lot about social media marketing which is said to disrupt the old way of seo. but seems cant find anyone mentioning that here.


Anyone has sth to shed some light on me? How much better is this social media marketing comparing to the old seo tricks? and in which ways its better? and how can i best do it?

Lets discuss and hopefully we all can drive up our rankings on google


i shall start with a bit i know:

create account for your site in any popular SNS and have it updated frequently with the link and keywords to your site. This might drive in quite some relevant traffic. but as for seo, i am not sure whether it works good.

 

I have all the social networking links on my sites so that users can post it for me. I get a ton of traffic that way from reddit and others.

if yuo are into adsense, then social media traffic will not do you much good. social media people are looking for networking opportunities and are very familiar with adsense as most of the social sites run adsense on their own sites. therefore this type of traffic traditionaly proved to have high bounce rate with no conversion

 

social bookmarking is unlikely to drive up click through rates significantly. I agree though that advertising revenue is down due to the Global recession. My suggestion would be to continue to post in do follow fourms, and building backlinks from do follow blogs in a similar niche to your own as the visitor traffic is likely to me more closely associated with your niche. Social bookmarking can be very hit and miss. I get 120 visits from stumble upon per day but the quality of the traffic is really really poor.

 

Yeah, you'd very likely get a lot of traffic but they are pretty much worthless.

 

how about the effect on my site's google ranking? i mean, does social media marketing really helps seo?
