i have seen many sites in Google have something below their description which are usually the main features of the sites ( especially the ones ranked first have this) , i wanted to know what must be done for sites to have these below their description in Google listing . here is a snapshot of what i mean
It appears to be when a site is the clear authority for a particular search term. I see it on some of my sites but only when you search for the company name rather than a keyword. There is little you can do expect make sure you have clear site structure and making sure the structure is not too flat - make the 5 or 6 most important pages stand out by linking to them from all the pages.
Anyone know how often this is updated? One of the sub-listings for my site still says "2005 Schedule". And I changed everything to 2006 on 1/1/2006.
We had some discussion about this a few months ago. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=24340
I think from memory it is for those in the 1st place position only and a bit of a perk for being authority on that subject. (or deemed as being authority) But it would certainly give you a bit of extra exposure. Notice though that its not for every search term. Brad
Not sure whether you've seen this before but Matt Cutts spoke of this here: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/ui-fun-better-snippets/ Unfortunately, he doesn't give much away about what sites get this treatment.
