I wanted to receive an eBook. I filled my name and my eMail address, then I received an eMail like this:

We received your request for information from the xxxxxxx group.
Before we begin sending you the information you requested, we want to be certain we have your permission.

Where does it say that I want to receive commercial information, not only free eBooks? On the site I was redirected, I couldn't find anything about commercial messages.

Is it legal just to ask permission for sending "information", and then send one eMail a day, after I sent the original information?
