I am going to start a new technology related blog. While I was searching for a good web host I came through LunarPages hosting solutions. They are providing many facilities such as Free Domain Name, Unlimited Bandwidth, Unlimited Space and many more for only 4.95 USD/Month.

So I want you to suggest me weather I should go with it. I am in India so will I get proper technical support. And is it easy to install wordpress on their Web Hosting.

Plz let me know your experience and suggestions. I would be thankful to all of you. :)

I've been happy with lunarpages for two years now and have 10 sites (2 are WP) running on my shared plan.

It is $4.95/mo only if you pay 12 or 24 months in advance ;)

They are reputed hosts, and support is quite good.

Lunar pages is an okay shared host. I have used them. They are quick to bill. The rate as mentioned is based on a long term commitment - but all the hosts use the same ploy. They are california based. The support is average for shared hosting.

One downside to the "free" add ons is if you try to move to another host suddenly a number of fees occur. You are much better off using a 3rd party redirect from a Registrar that way if the hosting goes to hell, if there is an earthquake or whatever you can easily move your site.

The problem with all shared hosting is you have no idea who else is on that server so you can get really crappy performance at certain times of the day if one site is sucking the resources. But you can't really know that with anyone.

I'd rate them 7/10 overall, and yes I promote them along with a few other hosts, mainly because they are not anal about adult stuff as long as it complies with California Laws.
