    Hi

I set up few campaigns in google adwords content network,
direct linking and iframe the merchant page starting bids at $0.10,
bidding on some "mindset" & long tail keywords.

The next day, i download the statistic using my adwords and i notice
google slap my keywords up to $10 & $5 and my ads are not running.

Is Google slap on the content network ads??I thought it only happen
in Google search and content network is safe from being slap??

    Some one let me know.

    Thanks.

Im still learning myself and others will prob give better advice but from all ive read so far about adwords, that direct linking is not ideal and does no favours regarding quality score, which contributes towards CPC, as does other things it seems.

That landing pages with overall relevancy between the ad, landing page, product/service offered can greatly reduce your CPC if gotten correct.

Your keywords, landing page, and ad copy should be relevant in order to avoid the google slap. I assume that you bid on the keyword "mindset"? That is too broad. Be more specific.

for the content network you do not need to iframe the offer, just send the traffic direct to the merchant page and use the merchants display url. If search says $5 and $10 that is common, just be sure to turn the search network off in the campaign setting and just leave the content network activated.

You cannot however send the traffic direct to the offer on the search network, your campaign will get slapped that way

I appreciate that very useful information Robert.

How do you know that a direct link from the content network will get the Google slap?

I have been interested in that method but thought that direct linking, even in the content network, was likely to get a slap.

    I appreciate any insight.
