About Fake PageRank

There is something i wanted to know...

I have bought a real good domain from a person with over 10,000 yahoo back link. But the problem is the domain is having a Fake Page Rank. Is there anything i can do to make the domain have a real page rank? please guide me, Thanks

 

What do you mean by fake page rank? well 10 k links in yahoo may be equal to only 100 links in Google.

As yahoo shows nofollow links in it index.

 

fake page rank is something like the google crawler is redirected to another another site and crawls another website for pagerank and reports it as the new website's page rank.

Anybody know how to fix this fake page rank? please

 

There are sites out there that ping the G servers directly and will be able to tell you the 'real' rank of your site. I don't have any links, but a quick google search will lead you in the right direction.

 

If you are getting links in Google also as same as in yahoo.

Than that domain will worth for you.

 

Check the cache of your site in google to verify that the PR is fake. If it's not true PR the cache will be of some site that is not yours. Possible that the faking stopped happening after the last update so this isn't 100% accurate.

Faking this stuff is done by redirecting traffic from googlebot to another site, preferrably one with a high PR. So the green bar goes up but your pages don't get indexed or get a single visitor from the engine.

To stop your site from faking it, just look in your code for something that checks if the user agent is googlebot, then redirects to a different site. It will be before the 1st output of html. Remove that code and the problem is solved.

 

How does that work a fake page rank because i have heard of a software called PR Storm which is used to Link spam and it is a very powerful software that can get you a real page rank of 3/4/5 something like that anyway.

Yes you can get the real PR back by getting it reindexed in google.

If it is just a domain with no site then google can't look at anything, so its PR will seem fake.

make a site and get it indexed.

 

Try to get it indexed in Google and build some quality backlinks.

Indeed, just do like how you usually do to build your pagerank. By the way didn't you check the domain before buying? Usually the first thing people would like to know is whether the PR is fake or not.

 

nothing worse then getting busted for fake pagerank... We once caught a guy trying to do that when we're buying their site. (he still hasn't sold)
