Does Twitter allow an account that uses the name of your website? Example, Digital Point. Meaning you are not using your own name.
As long as you have a right to use that name, it's fine. You can't use someone else's brand, or trademark or represent yourself as them.
I do this with almost every site I own. There are a few that I keep under wraps but for the most part it helps in getting the names out there..
Thanks for your feedback friends. I just want to make sure I won't be banned or suspended in Twitter if ever I create an account there.
Yes - I usually create a twitter account for each niche that I go after and half of them end up just sitting. I have 10 accounts but only 2 that do anything with. It's generally recommended, though, that if you're going to start building relationships and selling long-term that you do that under your own name. That way people get to know you, trust you, etc.
You can use anything you like, the part about the trademark brand is something forbidden in the TOS but then again, you still can register them. If this is a problem it is more on the normal legal side. you have some restrictions though: - you cannot have a username longer than 15 chars - it has to be a-z, numbers and underscore alone this is because you do have your username as your twitter url as well. (the name field in the bio has 20 chars, the bio itself 160 chars) If there is no disagreement it is a first come, first serve basis though you need to be aware that twitter does claim back unused accounts, so at least make them protected and feed something into such accounts. hth
