Hi recently i started a new venture of link development by commenting on blogspot blogs. I choose blogs only on blogspot (.blogspot.com) and i developed few links by commenting. Recently i was checking my back links using a software SEO Elite and it said that all the comments were placed on duplicate IP. Is it that all the blogspot blogs got the same Ip address. Will it give negative effects on SEO. Comments and suggestions is needed.
It's true. All blogspot blogs are on the same IP. Ultimately, you will not get credit for each individual backlink if they are all on blogspot. You'll only get credit for a coupe of them.
That's not entirely true. But then again, you are using blog comments to improve your rankings rather than commenting on the blogs like everyone else does... Seriously, focus on getting real links instead of using blog comments for "SEO purposes".
I have only done blog commenting on my site and I am ranked #4-#5 for a decent keyword (Depends on the day) out of 340,000,000 search results. This site has been up for only a few months. So I have to say blog commenting does fairly well. And I have not put much effort into my own site because I have been very busy working on other projects.
philly387, the number of search results shown for a given query have NO impact on how competitive a keyword is. Your site is also fairly young to boot. What's the keyword you're targeting? I can tell you in 30 seconds if it really is decent or not (difficulty-wise).
It will not give negative effects on SEO but you can do better on it if you would also do blog comments to other sites in order to have more traffic with your links.
Blogpost blogs are okay, but you should also concentrate on other blogs if you think blog comment links can make a difference to your rank.
Comments on blogspot.com or blogger.com will not help you for SEO in regards to Google, as they are nofollow. Building links by commenting on blogs is a valid method of getting backlinks. But if you are interested to rank higher in google, you should make sure that the links are dofollow.
blogger blog commenting doesn't help in terms of seo as hpgoodboy said they are all nofollow back links. there are some software out there that search google for dofollow related blogs based on keyword search
Oops. I never thought of that. All of blogspot blogs are on same or similar IPs? Then what is the purpose of taking all the pains to cook up meaning ful and relevant comments and post them on blogspot blogs for the purpose of getting link backs? You may want to use something like Dofollow diver to find other relevant blogs to comment upon.
There is no purpose because commenting on blogs just to get a link to your site is essentially spamming the blog.
don't just focus on blogpost blogs, i can help you with blog commenting on quality blogs on my topic (check sig)
Hi, I comment on blogs, not to increase my links, since usually they are nofollow, unless one modifies the HTML - you can see some "dofollow" and 2comment luv" badges on some blogs - but with the purpose of saying something useful or giving a compliment. Going to a blog and leave an almost out of the context comment just hoping that someone will click one's link it's not a good strategy. But if a comment is relevant and well written, then one may even get a visit or two. Have a nice weekend, José
