About cheques on hold

Discussion in 'Payments' started by super_kid, Jul 8, 2005.

I barely made over 100 dollars last month, so I decided to put the cheque on hold because I rather wait and receive a greater amount of money than to get a small one - I'll end up spending it.

What will happen, tho? When I un-hold the $100 cheque, will it be sent with the next month's cheque, or will the amounts simply add up to one big fat cheque?

    Thanks ;)

AFAIK the totals will be added and the final cheque or bank transfer will be the total amount owed. However, Google is not a bank and considering the fact you could lose the lot if any fraudulent activity occured on your site (your fault or not) I wouldn't recommend using it as one. Better to transfer the money into a savings account that has a 30 or 90 day notice; you get more interest that way too!

If you really want someone to stop you spending it, wire the money to me and I'll invest it wisely for you :D

    Cheers

You're right, in the new version of adsense control panel it is not mentioned anymore. Before the gave you a limit of six months.

So, perhaps no more time limit for payment on hold.

Well, I think the "payment hold" feature was added for international publisher who have to pay large amounts to get the cheques processed by their banks. It allows you to get one large cheque instead of many small ones, and thus saves you banking costs.

Although the banning of accounts could be a problem, so I also think it's wise if you don't keep your payments on hold for long.
