You may have 1000 backlinks in reality but Google may not index / register all and thus the difference. Don't bother and continue to increase the count. Also what matters is the quality of site it is coming from, higher PR sites are better for you as compared to no pr sites! Thx
Have u checked ur backlinks in Google webmaster Tools, if not then check there............... And there are some other ways to check ur backlinks:- First - in Yahoo by this command: linkdomain:www.yourdomain.com -site:www.yourdomain.com It wud show you backlinks for a site without duplication............... Second - Use backlinkwatch.com to check ur baclinks................. I am sure these things wud help u..................
I think Google Webmaster Tool is good for checking backlinks. But, the question is, why the amount of backlinks amongst them are different? I think Google needs more time to index the backlinks.
Google only shows you 1-2% of your backlinks at any given time, because... well, simply because this is how they do it. It doesn't mean that you actually have only the links shown by the link command in Google. If you want to see all your backlinks, use the linkdomain:www.yoursite.com command in yahoo.
well i am agree that google is showing only snapshot of backlinks. though google consider many backlinks but it is not showing all due to their policy. still google webmaster is the best i use and find many backlinks. backlink watch and yahoo site explorer is showing both google approved and non approved backlinks.
