Guys i want to know about blck link and what is the main purpose and how it is beneficial for keyword ranking

Suppose, you have build a village in a area which is not connected to any other village OR city, then no one will know about your village.
Right?
when this new village will be connect to other villages and cities via road way or path way and the people the the new village will be related to other villages and cities then your new village will be populated.
Right?
in the similar way we are adding links of a newly lunched site at other similar category sites to populate it. the back links are the sites at which the links were added.
