kaspersky is a top notch software. but for those cant afford to buy it, AVAST home edition is best. IMO
I used all and like none of the above according my experience NOD32 is better than all the above. it consumes less machine resources and it can detect most malware. by comparing with NOD32 above 4 is not so capable of detecting malware and those consumes a considerable amount of machine resources.
ooops u give 4 top antivirus ... everyone has his own experience i like all except nortan. becoz it slow my system speed. Currentyl i m using kaspersky, its best. All the 4 antiviruses listed above are good but if u have updated versions.
Nod 32 seems to be popular choice, because it works well. Since 2003, i've stayed away from Norton's antivirus, because it was resource hungry. Hopefully things have changed by now.
AVG is the best, Not only my personal experience speaks but also it is extensively used all round the globe.
You forgot to add NOD32 (This is best alternate if you have low RAM that cannot be used with Kaspersky)
I have always been a fan of Norton - a few years back the software was a bit bloated, but it seams like they have trimmed it back a bit. Dean Edwards
Rather than throw money at an already expensive operating system that is junk to begin with, switch to Ubuntu linux. Its free and you don't need anti-virus b/c its secure and nobody writes viruses for linux. If you are stuck in a windows world...then go with Norton AV
