about all those WidgetBucks bans

I trusted they would eventually attempt to explain themselves ;)

They have made a new post on their blog that they are, "Addressing Network Quality and RPC". It seems to me that most of the recent bans are stemming from a website's traffic... not whether or not the site was written in English.
They also blame this for lowering those CPM rates and address their short-term measures they have taken to address these issues.

You can read the full post here:

    Your thoughts ?

They are just screwing with me! They gave me a suspension e-mail a week ago and have not suspended my account.

I want them to either suspend it or tell me that the suspension decision has been lifed. I hate being in doubt.

Typical, but it has to be said this was expected and I said it from the very beginning, all sites whose traffic does not convert will not see any money, for now they are removing non-english and non US/Canada sites, later they will find reasons to remove US/Canadian sites with whose traffic is not making sales.

Archbob why not try contacting them? Actually you may well want to move on and put it down to a bad experience.

And why the hell do they have an affiliate link to WidgetBucks on their own blog?

(PS: Waits for tnsadmin to come along and hype up WidgetBucks....)

I have tried, they just fail to respond.
On the bright side, valueclick(the ad I replaced them with) is almost make me $1CPM so its not bad.

Their original selling point was they were a CPC and not a CPA that accepted traffic from any geo location.

Not that terms of use can't be changed but change them after cutting cheques and not before banning publishers. Example: "English only sites now...check that, what we mean is Canada and USA only now"

What's next? Only if clicks convert?

I'm not affected by any decision they make as I gave them a try and they didn't perform well for me. I'm guessing it had to do with my UK traffic seeing ads in dollars and not pounds.

Good luck to publishers getting the coin they're owed because as an outsider I view them as changing the rules mid-game.

I think the past week has definiately put a halt to the WB hype.

Yes, they need to increase their communication efforts. I hope they will address this once they get their networking issues straight.

I think they are trying to offer a CPC model... but reward their publishers for a better CPA... which translates to high CPMs... or something like that. Very confusing stuff.

I too was waiting ;) and sorry they have affected you now. They seem to be finding ways of pissing on all. I was thinking I might also need to set up some geo targeting to please them. Seems like too much work to satisfy this newcomer with the those slow loading widgets.

I'll be p1ssed even more if they decrease CPC like they have been, now it shouldn't vary so much, if they can stop alterring CPC I will be happy enough to stay on board - I guess the next week or two will give me a good enough chance to weigh up my options.

Maybe I should sell my website now while I have the proof of earnings on my site.

WidgetBucks don't know whether they are coming or going, nor do their publishers. What started off as a good idea has now just become a mess.

thsadmin: Why bother targetting traffic to your widgets? Find an alternative, that PAYS. I dont know what sort of site you have but TheNewsRoom.com pays $4CPM, give it a try if its suitable.

Yeah, I have about 15 sites, 40 Blogs, 40 directories, a video site and a few more.

I am using TNR, Seekmo, Zango, WB, Adsense, Smorty Paid to Blog all on various sites.

I might start selling off some of my sites soon, to much to manage for one person.
I have a few new things in my life ATM and one coming in April/May * Cough* A baby.

I took a look at widget bucks last night and JUDGing by there "advertisers" it looks like they are actually using cj.com datafeeds ...

Now they probably expected all these "clicks" to convert into sales and they didn't ...so now they are "banning"

I think they were thinking there system would work like auction ads and just convert and make everyone happy :)

But seems it didn't go so well..

I will also ask this again..

    When is the expected paydate?

15th of December for octobers earnings is first Payout Date.

Interesting, my earnings haven't been effected that much yet with new change, will still be mad if they keep dropping CPC though.

Yeah I have CJ/eBay links feeds next to my WB widgets and articles. But I may head down same path.
