Can anybody give me any comments on advertising on addme.com? I want to place a banner ad on this site. But it's a risk without knowing the result.

I contacted them for the price, it's $5 per 1000 impressions for a 125 x 125 banner ad, with 100, 000 impressions mimum. Based on its traffic, it's around $1000/month.

I checked its alexa rank, it's only 41017, while directorycritic.com is 64374. However, advertising on directorycritic is only $40/month for the 125 x 125 banner ad. Both sites shall have almost the same traffic, then why addme is 25 times of directorycritic for the same advertising?

Did anyone ever place a 125 x 125 banner ad on addme.com? And how is the performance?

The cost is indictive of what you are advertising, if you are an SEO expert it may be worth your efforts, you are going to target webmasters with the site, mind you your advertising will need to be very specific as many SEO sites with free SEO tips attract the do it yourself crowds, so you need a convincing add campaign.

Also, Ignore Alexa, ask to see Stats, If they get each user clicking on 10 pages then you are only getting 100 unique users per 5 dollars, and most won't go to your ad, so you may pay effectively $5 for one lead, if that lead is worth it great, if not i'd ask for more.

I always suggest trying to find sites that will sell you Unique Visitors, and preferably if you can find sites that are monitored by outside agencies.

    Alexa ranking doesn't mean anything.

There are unknown sites out there that have hundreds of thousands of hits.

You want to go by how many hits they get, and the look of their site, among other things.

    Break the numbers down...

They get how many daily hits? Around 7,000???

Maybe, .05 (half a percent) percent of them will click on your ad. Of those going to your site, between 1-3% will buy. Maybe.

After doing the math, do YOU think it is worth it?

Are sure webconfs.com is good? Check their forums, and you will find that the threads are just a little. A busy forum can't be like that. seomoz.com is 1,249631 in alexa rank, even worse than my own site.
