? about a .edu link

I read somewhere that a .edu link will increase your PR....my question is this...what if the .edu website uses php, so instead of an address like xxx.edu you have xxx.edu/index.php? Will that still increase PR? Thanks. I am thinking that it still should, which would help increase PR therefore allowing you to charge more for paid links...am I right on that?

Edu sites do not pass more PR than other sites.

Just search for high PR edu site and ask them for a link.

You will get high PR if the edu site has high PR and if has small number of outgoing links.

Yes, any kind of backlink from an .edu site will increase PR and carries much more weightage than other TLDs.

there's no difference in a .edu link from a .com link. it acts like any other PR-ed site.

If you own a .edu site and get links from other .edu sites then the pr will have more value. Other than that there really is no difference.

The right links from the right .edu can definitely get you more link juice. Links from student blogs are no where near as powerful as a mention in a professor's curriculumn though.

Because of the popular rumor on .edu TLD to be more valuable, many think .edu backlinks are better than others.

Matt Cutts said Google doesn't do that. What I think is that many .edu sites are usually authoritive and have high PR. So there is no surprise that you gain PR and create a good backlink profile. But relevancy to your site theme is always the key to determine the quality of any backlink.

Also, you can look for .gov they are just as powerful as the .edu, maybe better.
