    It would be nice if I could list a product : i5 2500k for example, and it would take that text, and make a referral link for me...is it possible to do this on my wordpress blog?

    There are some free Wordpress plugins that automatically turn normal Amazon links into affiliate links.

    Are you having success with Amazon referral links? The buy link- I think is more important. Why not a search widget in the side bar that also provides a buy link? For example, the reader is reading your post-- and decides to search amazon for what he just read about... the interface provides quick summaries and also provides the buy link.. and a referral link... I have an example if you want to see.

    I use wordpress plugin Redirection for hiding aff links to amazon. It is fast and once you add the product to this plugin you can always find it very quickly later.

    You also see some stats (how many times the visitors clicked on the link etc.)

    Do you mean automatically turning keywords into links? If so, the smartlinks plugin will do that. I believe the SEO Auto Links & Related Posts plugin will do it using tags as well. Both are free.
