I want to know which domain is better with hypen or without hypen. abc.com or a-bc.com..which one is better in both and why? is there any -ve effect of using hypen in domain name?
I know its easier to remem abc.com but I also want to know is there any -ve effect in ranking if we take domain with hypen "a-bc.com" ? I want to buy a domain but that is already taken by another person and same domain name with hypen is available..so I want to confirm will it rank better on SERP's or not?
use of hyphens in domain names is not a bad thing as far as i am concerned. But if you are looking to fill keywords in the domain with hyphen like keyword1-keyword2-keyword3.com then there is a chance of bad mark. 1 hyphen is ok but with more than 1 hyphen there is a chance of spam filter applied to the site.
It really does not matter... But if you are asking I would say, domains with hyphens will break your domain name into keywords and may give you added benefit.
I agree with rebecca.., having hyphens will be added advantage if your domain is keyword based one..,
