A friend of mine is a moderately semi active member in this forum. Then he figured out that he had an inactive account from a long time ago he no longer logged in into. Should he tell a mod so the inactive account is deleted. Will doing so result in he is being banned from having 2 accounts? Or should he just quitely logged in to the old account and got that one deleted.
I think there is no way to delete an account. Your friend can log in the same old account, or if he have already created a new one, just inform the mod about his new account and old account details, so that they keep note of it, so can avoid getting banned.
Sounds like an honest mistake and in a forum as old as this one it does happen from time to time. Get him to send a private message to one of the mods (like me) and we'll request a merge and put a note on his profile explaining.
It's lovely that you were so concerned about your friend but odd that you'd forgotten that you, yourself, had about 4 other accounts.
