aardvark topsites mod rewrite

Hi,

I'm running an aardwark topsites website, and category link looks like this :

http://www.example.com/index.php?cat=general_category

I want it this way :

http://www.example.com/general_category


Is this possible using mod rewrite ? Site is hosted on GoDaddy linux, deluxe hosting.
