A win-win link-building strategy

I suggest the following daily practice to Digital Point members — each day check the Solicitations and Announcements sub-forum. On the average, there are several new directories there each day. Take a few minutes and submit to those directories. I see some good advantages:

    1. You will gain for yourself perhaps 1,000 new links each year for a few minutes' work each day.
    2. You will be helping Digital Point members who are building directories.
    3. You will be helping yourself. DP members tend to be pretty high-tech on the whole. So some of the DP members' directories are likely to become very successful, thereby giving you a high-quality link from those directories.

This is a win-win strategy both for you and for DP members building directories.

    4. You get probably more quickly listed in these new directories. In the beginning the directory owners probably spend more time by maintaining their directories.

Good advice, Jim. It is certainly win-win. I'm glad to get a submission in the early stages of a directory, and you're glad to get a free life-time link.

Precisely! And I double-checked the directories in the sigs of the posters above and, as expected, found I am listed in all of them. It only takes a few minutes a day to submit to the typical 2-4 new directories listed each day by DP members. Well worth the time — for them and for you.

Right. Submitting to a few directories daily gives the benefit of spreading over time the inbound links, therefore not getting too many links all at the same time, as opposed to spend hours submitting to many all at once.
