a way to run 2 separate websites off same database w/wordpress?

i've been looking around and found that its actually possible to use the same mysql database for 2 separate wordpress websites - but it didn't answer my question. which is: is there a way to run 2 separate websites, but when i update one website it also updates the other?

example: i post a blog entry about "steak and eggs" on site one, then it also posts it to site two... in the same category etc.

my concern was if i use the same database it would just set different table prefixes in the database for the two separate sites. if you can be of any help it would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys and girls

in a short answer no... but you could get a auto update plugin that will post from the 1st to say a dummy twitter account and then have a plugin that auto updates the 2nd wp with a twitter plugin. it sounds like a hassle but the only other way on 1 db is to have WP Mu.

You could use an auto blog plug in to post it to another blog, but for the life of me...I see this question a lot and, I can't understand why any one wants to post the same information to multiple blogs.
It just seems like such a waste of time with all the syndication options out there.
Why duplicate content, when you can just syndicate it ?

i guess i didn't think about the auto blogged. will it copy everything? all html, etc? the reason to have the same information on multiple blogs is simple for me. theres actually no information at all, they're streaming videos. on a typical "post" for me, is 100% html w/embed codes, etc.

then yeah get a autoblog plugin (free or not) and use the RSS from the first site and the plugin on the 2nd site and bang! Yes almost all will copy it exactly as you have it in the post as long as your RSS is setup correctly.

I have Wp-Robot and Auto-Blogged plugin copies. 2 of the best premiums. Lets me know if you'd like.

Another option is to use Wordpress MU and their multi-post plugin which allows you to post to every blog.

You can mirror both wordpresses, so that one site updates to another one. You might need to tweak your database settings for this to work properly which is a big NO NO. So use auto post, its an easier way to handle it.

    Hope it helps
