A way not get your article directory penalized for duplicate content?

Are there any article directory that just simply link the visitors directly to the article sites similar to what Digg is doing? If not, why don't article directory owners do this to prevent getting penalized for duplicant content?

    Thanks in advance,

That's a good suggestion! actually article directories have the "author resource box" and the links are usually posted there!

Article directories face too much of spam, i mean all kinds of junk articles are posted everyday! people use article spinners to post bulk articles in article directories!

Also these article directories are accepting those junk articles to make matter worse! if the article directories adopt high quality review policy then the submitters will also stop posting low quality duplicate content!

I guess, an article source field [link to original article] option on article submission page! would be a good idea!:)

Article directories do help in a way for improving serp's ranking. A good quality article written can work wonders. A submitter must submit different type of articles for a particular sitein order to achieve good ranking.

Though for Article Directory owners my advice would be to maintain a good & strong editorial integrity. :)

Depends how serious our article sites are I guess, I have a handful and don't have the time to check articles for quality or duplicate content, the thing is that some of the articles are new at time of posting - however they may be submitting the same article to a lot of other article directories at the same time.

I wouldn't link to the other sites with articles or where articles are hosted, if I did I would be a link directory ? right ? a link directory for the articles niche.
