Haha that sounds excellent. I can't help but wonder if an ebook on how to sell ebooks exists.
PS: NO ONE reply to this with an actual ebook that does. I will lose faith in humanity.

True money making methods are personal and usually unique to an individuals methods. not to be shouted from mountain tops.

Very nice post made here Matt, I think you need some coding skills (atleast on PERL) to get in the blackhat areana and ebooks are less likely to help.

I agree with you on this. However from my personal experience, buying ebooks and working out that they don't work and you have to put your own hard work and determination in was part of my self learning curve. Although the ebooks themselves were ripoffs, I found that the close to $500 I spent was part of an essential learning curve. It just sucks that it involves losing money and the people who sell these ebooks gaining money for playing of someone elses lack of experience

You can not rule out every eBook on the market though, make sure people know you are mainly talking about the "how to make xxx" eBooks which i too agree.
However you can get some beneficial eBooks which are full of information that can be used over and over again.

Overall though i agree with your point entirely.

    Will.

Yeah there's possibly a couple out there. I would say SEOBook by Aaron Wall is a good one. But it's getting to the point where I doubt the risk is worth it, unless you have money to burn. In which case, you probably wouldn't have to buy one ;)

mmmm have you actually purchased any of these eBooks ?

In the past few days I have had money to burn and I have purchased a few eBooks, 2 were apparent black hat, 1 was cookie stuffing - well it was crap, another one was making dollars with torrents and then the third one was an ebay report.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=763652 - Cookie Stuffing, well it was crap.
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=766276 - This one was the torrents, and is OK.
The last one I think was removed, the member was banned.

I liked the eBay one with well written reports, the point is some of us will enjoy the read and don't mind supporting other web masters, each eBook (good or bad) gave me new ideas and some food for thought.

I know that the get the $XXX is just a sales pitch and bogus, but sometimes I want to read the report or eBook just for fun or for new ideas ....

In conclusion they're not all bad and some of us actually like them ....

Great post!! I agree with you 100%. Sure, there are high-quality products out there, but the people promoting them honestly sound more like "here's why this might help you" and NOT LIKE "you will make $1000 a week." It's all crap. Don't believe the hype.

    Thanks again for the post.

LoL how can you even say that ? Have you bothered to read any and actually implement some of the strategies ...

Again .... proof or something please .... how do you know they're all hype ? isn't the internet built around hype ? Aren't 90% of sites, ad's, blogs and everything else on the net Hype ? Yes because Hype sells .... it's the internet .... nearly everything in the world that is sold is based on hype of some kind ....
