I wouldn't worry too much. I had some questionable traffic early on my adsense account (10 months ago) and then stopped it about 4 weeks later but never got a warning from google. Then just recently on new sites,I realized one of my advertisers may have possibly been using a similar sort of system, and wrote Google telling them that I was unsure if previous advertisers had gone against the TOS in advertising my site and asking if I would be banned, telling them I deactivated traffic (like you did) as I didn't remember seeing the warning against autosurf sites when I first signed up...

They wrote back and said basically 'hey, thanks for telling us - we did notice that you are getting a few autosurf hits, so thanks for turning it off and not using these sources again.' The next day or so I got a letter like you did "hi we noticed invalid clicks on your account and may not credit you for these, and also might shut down your account if it continues" which I would guess was attached to my initial email to them (as I'd had other sorts of auto-surf traffic a long while ago with no email...) I wrote back and referred to my initial letter to them.

Lately, I wrote again and asked them another (unrelated) question and they responded in a friendly manner, making me believe that if they really wanted to ban my account or crash my earnings, they would have done so already. I really doubt, since I've been in communication with them about these issues, that come pay time they'll wipe the balance and ban the account, even though I've read of it happening to other people. So, I'd say, stick with it. the worst they can do is ban you.

Bottom line: It's better to tell the G about invalid activity, even if it's you and you realize you screwed up somewhere and it was your fault and are worried, rather than having the G tell you this with a "your account has been disabled" email.

You are lucky enough that they didn't ban you with that notice email.

so fix everything and inform them you have them fixed.

    cheers!

By the way this also kind of denotes that you actually need to be egregious violating the rules to get an outright ban. Some people think if they click on their own ad once by accident they are doomed for ever, and that is not how things work.

If you get a banned letter from Google, you can rest assured they think you have been doing some heavy duty fraud.

Yeah, that's called Engrish if I recall correctly ...

P.S. -- Not totally related, but I also just can't stand (possibly, or better yet, usually) native English speakers who write PC's instead of PCs (i.e. plural), CD's and DVD's instead of CDs and DVDs and so on.
