Some people use VPS to surf anonymously (or with a specific IP) on the internet

Could you explain the way it works please?

    Thank you ;)

Some would purchase a barebones VPS and run a proxy server (keeping information private). Then force all of their traffic to go through said proxy. This can either be done with software from the machine you're using, which would only cover you in your network or at the router/switch level which would cover your local area.

Those will use their own proxy servers and will have nothing to do with a VPS you create.

Google bypass proxy client. -- This will be installed on your pc.
Google open source proxy server -- this will be installed on your pc.

You just need install squid proxy server on your VPS..

you may run OpenVPN server at your VPS if it support tun.. :) (it using 1024 bit Diffie Helman Encryption) and you can connect to your very own vpn server using OpenVPN GUI in windows.. :)

OpenVPN is a type of software for creating a VPN. A VPN is a virtual private network, basically you're joining a remote computer or group of computers to create a virtual LAN. You can then surf under the host's IP address, and in this case the host would be the server, so you'd be anonymous. Also, a VPN connection is secured with encryption, so you can also bypass filters this way. In other cases, a VPS can be used for file storage, hosting, remote access work, or just to have one. If you don't want to spend the money though, and just need a quick and easy anonymous connection, you can check out my new web proxy, http://ultra-unblocker.info. But if you're looking for a high security, heavy-duty solution, get a VPS and install OpenVPN. (Please rep me if this helped :))

Warning for newbies willing to use a VPN

Be careful with crappy services set up for some dark reasons and operating from nowhere with nothing but an email or a contact form as contact details

I do have one thing in mind. When you use a VPN, the service can have a track record of your various login details...
