Just want to let people know that there is a virus on seekabove directory that will dump itself on you computer the moment you visit it.

Within the last 5mins i visited it and fell victim to this virus for the 2nd time in less than two weeks, the same virus sits on a blog directory, i cant remember the name of the blog directory.

Basically the virus is called ibm003 or something like that, it logs you out of anywhere that requires a login and password and of course its logging your details if its on your pc if you sign into places again, if you restart, it will show as an extention that is not working properly.

Fortunately housecall gets rid of it, im going to scan the pc now and clean out once more. :(

    Have a link?

Only joking... That's pretty bad but how is it possible? Do they use dodgy JavaScript or ActiveX or something?

I think you need more than *Housecall*... to get rid of All the stuff you now have...

    I'd go here and get:

Spybot Search & Destroy, Spyware Blaster, Ewido Security Suite, Ad-Aware Personal, A-Squared...

Try the Personal *Free Versions* and see what they find. Install them then run them and then update and get the latest versions... there is also other online scanners like Panda...

You can find alot here G4 TV Tech Support

Well Housecall got rid of it last week, plus it found some other less damaging stuff, but thanks, if it has any trouble detecting il try the other softwares too, i run Norton, many people complain about Norton but its still some protection.

I guess its just part or using the net, considering the time i spend online i dont do too bad with problems like this.

Still a pain in the rear when it happens though.

Sh*t happens, i lost all my design datas 4 days ago because of some hardware failure. It was on a 200 gb hard disk, that burnt. Don't know how it happened, i guess its because in my street people are working on the local powerplant and the electricity is quite fucky, especially when you forgot to buy a new UPS :((

Its not like the virus thing but i know how it feels like when something is wrong like that.... hate that

if you start, it will show as the PC is not working correctly?

I happened to visit this site, seems ok to me, and the Norton did not report virus.

Anything I can see to find out whether I got the virus?

    thanks

Last time i had it on my pc a box would appear on start up mentioning some sort of error, my pc is now infected yet again with the same virus under a different name or similar, its basically doing the same as before, logs me out of everything with a sign in, housecall hasn't found this one this time, Norton detected it the other night but didn't clean it automatically, i notice that this type of thing happens at least once a year for me personally where the pc will get infected a few times.

Well, currently i use Norton but if anyone can suggest something tighter please let me know.
