Ok I have a strange site for sale. I am not going to post the URL here but the site is in the legal niche field and here is what I am offering. The site makes its money from google adsense. We have a large email mailing list that is targeted toward the same market as the site. In the past I have blasted the email list (it is can-spam complaint) and we made about $1400 in a week from the mailing on the site due to the fact the ppc cost runs around $30 to $40 per click in this field. So here is what I am offering. I will sell the site for what ever profit the site makes in a week less 20%. So if it site makes $1k then you pay $800 for the site and you keep the site. You dont pay anything until the site has already made the money but I would want at least some funds in escrow or something to keep someone from just getting all the money in their adsense account and then just not ever paying me. I would also have to have proof of what the profit was and not just a fake screen shot. Maybe use webex and the buyer can log into the account while I watch. The clicks are legit and you can put GA on the site so you can track that they are all unique clicks from different ips and different parts of the country. I would just do this myself and keep the funds but with adsense if I make a few thousand now it will be the 25th of next month before I get the funds and I need some money quickly to purchase something. I have two different sites I am willing to do this with so if anyone is interested let me know. Without the email blast the site only makes about $20 to $30 a month. The email list is not included in the sale. It cost me a lot of money so it is not for sale. The site is a wordpress blog and directory in the legal field. No fishing for the niche, I am not that stupid. You must be able to afford at a maximum of $1k and I will have to have some assurance you will actually pay after the income from the email starts to drop off which is usually about a week.
but without the email list the site wouldnt make much .. so whats the use of it without the email list?
you put your site in danger if your most traffic and clicks come from email lists not from search engine.

Jakd - so you want me to sell you a site for less money than it made in a week and give you a email list that cost me thousands of dollars? The site still makes money without the emails but it makes a lot more when you are marketing the site but you are getting the site for free. You dont pay a dime until the site has made enough profit to cover the cost. Guniwan - I am not sure where you got the info that google would ban a site unless its traffic comes from search engines. No where in googles TOS does it say anything about traffic sources not coming from email marketing. If that be the case then if you put up 1k billboards across the US and get a a lot of traffic to your website does that mean they will ban you? That really makes no sense. As long as the emails are can-spam complient there is nothing wrong with email marketing traffic at all. Browntwn - I will pm you.
bmac, You're right the sale is a little unusual. My gut is telling me this is TGTBT. No offense meant and maybe you could explain how I'm wrong...someone would probably jump at the opportunity then (myself included). So you're asking someone to collect the money for your site with their adsense account right? Whatever you make in 1 wk will be split 80/20 you/me. If Adsense doesn't pay you until several weeks later then wouldn't that mean they wouldn't pay me until the same date? So I'm assuming I would have to front the money at the end of the week (out of my own pocket) and then wait until adsense clears the money and confirms all the hits were unique IP's at the beginning of next month. If they weren't I wouldn't be paid anything and I would have already fronted you the money. I'm relatively new to the website owning/adsense world but I feel like this is fairly risky. Maybe you or someone else could comment and show me where I'm going wrong. Again, no offense just seems tgtbt. Good luck if it's real though!
Phillyfunz99 - You can install Google analytics and see the ip address and locations first hand and not have to wait until google confirms them at the end of the month. You can track the clicks with GA yourself. And yes there is some risk I suppose, we are not doing anything to get your account banned but if you do something and the account does get banned then yes you will loose the money but of course you are getting a website out of the deal as well. I am wanting to sell the site for around $500. I am simply offering the site for sale for $500 to $600. I was offering to send out a email blast to our list hoping that the site makes enough money on this blast to cover the cost of the website. If it did not then I am willing to decrease the price of the site. I was simply looking to make the site more attractive to potential buyers. I am not sure I would agree that it is "fairly risky". I would say there is a 1% chance of something happening that you would not get paid by google. Of course you also have to be realistic. Do you really expect to get a 100% return on an investment in a week with no risk. The fronting the money is the entire reason why I am willing to sale for this price. If not I would just keep the site and collect the money myself on the 25th of next month. I am willing to sale the site and let someone keep it until they get paid by google and then pay me a normal multiplier of the sites value. Meaning if it makes $1k a month then the price would be $6k or $7k. I am not saying it wll make that much but I am just using those figures.
