Msn crawls your site and sees a link to their site on your site. They get all happy because no one links to msn and then they boost your ranks.
Nice job, im trying it out ill get back to you with either my sites banned on msn, or high rankings =) and google tips=P?
i was about to post a thread on y mu site is not indexed in mSN since 2 months.. Let me try this techniq n then start the thread
Google doesn't like that too much, I would avoid doing that. They might think you are trying to be sneaky. I am going to give this a try. I used to do well on MSN, and since they changed I don't so so hot anymore.
Its not some mystery code LMAO It is a simple link to an msn search query for your url. Since the anchor words, title text etc are for your prefered keywords and it is specifically requesting your url, its only natural that any major SE that tracks their data is going to associate the two.
Like I said in the first post, it still stands as a theory and I couldn't find out the logic behind this trick. What I know is, it works. No one said it was some kind of mysterious code
I wasn't directing that at you Leet, I actually thought it a rather good idea and was addressing everyone else's skepticism. I even incorporated it into 42,572 pages on my site with unique keywords on each page. I'll come back and post as to how well it works. I used to get a lot of traffic from MSN but it suddenly stopped and I was de-indexed for all but my homepage. This might actually help.
could you not put this in a tiny iframe at the bottom of the page so its automatically clicked each page load and invisible to visitors
Looks like black hat to me...Won't be using it on a client site since there is a risk, as small as it is, to have your site banned for such tricks...
