While i am technically not faking the traffic, its real users, real ips and such. I am currently using a way that loads the page i am sending traffic to in an iframe on a diff page, that way the site gets hits, but the users hitting the site (unless they see the little iframe) are not actually visiting the site. Is this method of getting traffic
    1. bad for adsense and
    2. any way at all going to be beneficial to my site since it is increasing the perceived amount of unique hits a day?

sorry if this is unclear i will try to elaborate if needed

hmm, your stats porogram must be different than mine. I was using an Iframe on squidoo so I could have a lead capture box on my squidoo lens. My stats counter for my website never registered any hits anthough my lezs had about 130 visits.

    but...

why are you trying to artificially inflate the # of unique visits per day. It seems to me the number of visits don't matter as much as the amount of sales. Unless your trying to sell the site.

for purposes of join hits, i generate about 2k uniques a week when i place whatever link in the iframe. and where my iframe setup is loaded may be different than yours, i use it on one of my own sites, not squidoo or whatever

The number of visitors to your site doesn't really matter if most of them don't know they visited.

    1. It isnt good for adsense since people visiting the site unknowingly are obviously not going to click on unseen ads.

    2. No value to your site unless you are trying to sell it and rip someone off.

It will probably use up more bandwidth on your server, you always have that.

i don't think that will help...you'll have traffic without visitors seeing your site so how can those traffic be converted into sales...IMO not much of a help...

    1) yep, it is making your site look like it has extremely low quality traffic.

    2) If you are not getting sales, then I think the answer is already clear -- NO

why would you want to do this?

hmm, fake traffic to inflate visitor count.

are you trying to sell a site and wanting to make it look bigger???
