Hellow Dear DP members, I started a thread, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=109557 Because it was one of my first such threads in this community, I wasnt really sure what kind of service the members here would expect. I was doing a service which was disliked by many and now i want to close this thread. As a member in this DP can I or do I have the rights to ask a MOD to lock or close a thread? With my humble apology i want you to refer to this thread but i wasnt doing any copyright infringements. But whatever I was doing the members did not like it and now with respect I want to change my strategy the way my friendly DP members suggested. I hope to earn the respect back the way I lost it with my hard work and determination. Thanx for everything. A Sorry Rezx.
Rex, you should use the report a bad post triangle outlined in red for such requests as closing one of your threads. By posting here you are waiting for a mod to come along and read your thread. The report a bad post will draw our attention sooner.
Shannon is right. Whenever i report any post as a bad post, the MODS look into the matter and take the action in minutes, infact in a few cases inside a minute. reporting a bad post would get your work done very soon.
Actually, I think you can (with vBulletin 3.6 anyway). Do you see the Report Post icon on your own posts?
Well you could go to first post below yours and hit the report bad post with explanation about what you wanted.
No no report icon. The rep icon on your own posts is to tell you the balance of + and - reps for that specific post.
Manually hacked it for now, and opened a bug report with vBulletin so hopefully it will be permanent... http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/bugs36.php?do=view&bugid=511
Hey i am able to see the Bad Post Report icon for my post too which i think was not earlier. Nice work done. Now it would be easy to request for a thread delete if there was any problem in our own thread.
By the way, I read that original thread.. and I thought I understood what you were doing and did not have a problem with it. My impression was you communicated it poorly and people mis-understood you. My understanding is you were offering to collect articles on specific topics from article-resource sites that distribute articles in exchange for links. As far as I could see you were not doing anything wrong, and it is certainly something some people might be interested in having someone do for them.
