Right now I am thinking of how to get my forum fired backup.... Anyways here is some stats, I had up to 300+ people online at once posting non stop marketing off of myspace for a while. Now it has about 1-2 users online at once. All I can say is I dont like myspace marketing, its good for some things but not good for all. I'm thinking about holding a contest like a ps3 or ipod to get it back up there. The problem is when i hold a content how do i let "Teenagers" and people in "College" know about this? Some ideas I have been brainstorming alot but nothing that I can really say this will work!
You might want to do some banner exchanges and alot more advertising. Personally we did a playstation 3 as a prize for the game www.themobworld.com thinking it would attract more people..We were wrong it attracked not many peole at all and we got the PS3 as a prize when it first came out. You might wanna find other ways to build up your forum before you think a prize is going to actually help you all that much
Green rep never hurts for good answers I suggest you find something that makes these members stick . You get them there from myspace then you have to do something with them.. I am making a site now I purchased the domain name as well as the banner for a site called : HTMLFORMYSPACE.COM if you would like do any adverts when that site is up I will be using a SEO consultant. And you are welcome to buy a cheap link until the PR refreshes to a PR-4 PR-5 site hehe.
My sites already a Pr3 and it has ALOT of Posts and ALOT of members :-p I told you there was about 300 Members not users online at once, now there is about 1-2 users online at once mostly guests it totally fell apart.
You may want to look at place ads on the email newsletter of humor site, I've heard you get A LOT of traffic and cheap to your site - as long as you are not SELLING something.
