    Few questions looking for answers/oppinions/fact

    1. Does the "acronym" attribute have any weight
    2. Does the "name" attribute have any weight

What other things can I do to set up a fully optimized internal linking structure? i'll have about 8 categories, with related info/articles/content under each.

i didn't read anywhere about them having any weight, but as long as it doesn't harm your listings why not use them (mybe they will weight in the future...)

It may have weight as far as keyword density goes, but be very very careful to not overdo it since you could easily get flagged as a keyword spammer.

Very true regarding the keyword spamming precaution. Try to keep your keyword density over 2% but under 7%. Over 7% and the engines realize you are not producing content for human consumption but rather for search engine consumption.

    Good luck.

It will if you have a high keyword density.
