A Sudden increase in traffic ?

Hi all,
I have seen a sudden increase in traffic in all my website today. Is here anyone who experience the same ?

 

This increase in traffic is likely related to your specific website and its rankings. It is not necessarily something that many other people have experienced. It is not as if an extra million people used Google today. You should monitor your rankings and traffic. That way you will be able to tell exactly where the extra traffic is coming from.

 

I also have such case happening.

 

Well my traffic increases everyday with a simple Google technique I use Check your referrers to see where the traffic is coming from and focus more of your attention on that site.

 

The boost in traffic may be due to the development in your site ranking The result of your good hard work is now happening.

 

I don't see a surge in traffic to any of my sites. They are normal. The hike you experienced could be due to the forthcoming Christmas and New Year?
Any way, a spike in traffic is always welcome provided it is sustained on a long term basis and also targeted

 

Everything normal here..Check your visitors..might be a case when one of your story has hit social bookmarking site

 

I am getting the same visitor numbers as yesterday and the day before.....

 

My site don't have lots of visitors and the traffic is not so high..

 

There could be many reasons why you suddenly have a spike in traffic.

There is some new hot search term, and you happen to rank well for it.

Somebody's linked to you from their site, and quite a bit of traffic is coming from there.

You've hit the front page of something like Digg ( Although that would be a very large spike )

 

Also Spikes in traffic can be from using start pages or page exchange. sometimes monitoring your site is considered as traffic also. all of these are considered as junk traffic and its nearly worthless.

 

Nothing new with any of my sites.

They're all generating the same amount.

 

The best bet is that your niches had more results because there was either:
1) The niche just had a news article on it (Yahoo News, Fox News)
2) The niche was on sale or something (xbox 360 sale, gears of war 2 sales, cyper monday ect.)
3) The niche was possibly praised recently / awarded (PC Mag Top 100 Software ect.. )

there are a lot of things that might of happened, those are just the few of the millions.

there is possibility of high ranking. also it is possible that some of your links are liked in SU and digg so many times.

 

Have you checked your statisitcs to see where do your traffic from?
