A Speed and DNS Problem

I have a small site hosted on Godaddy.com. I’m using Godaddy’s basic shared hosting plan. I have DNS redirection setup to turn a URL that would normally be www.website.com/stuff to www.stuff.website.com. The problem is that it seems to take about 10 seconds for the later to come up. Is this something that can be remedied (by remedied I mean take much less time to load) if the site was moved to a dedicated server?

    jawinn,

It really depends on what is causing that delay. Have you been able to isolate if it's the site that just loads slow or if it's the dns redirection that is causing the issue. If it's the site that loads slow are you using any server side scripting (asp, php etc) or just html?

The solution really depends on where the problem is.
